Angelica from The Smiling Frog
Angelica is the owner of the Etsy shop The Smiling Frog and also runs a Etsy shop for supplies called SmilingFrogsSupplies. She began selling in 2007, mainly selling her supplies. Along with her Etsy shops, she is a gardener during the summer.
The name of her shop comes from her love of frogs and one warm winter day she saw a frog in her pond smiling. She told her boyfriend about it and he asked, "How does a frog smile?" and she made a little grin. Now when it is warm, he will ask her how a frog smiles, so when naming her shop- The Smiling Frog- immediately came to mind.
Her favorite materials to work with vary. "I keep discovering new things that get me way too excited," she said. "Shrink plastic is a new media that I want to do more of. I usually have a favorite material of the week."
The colors she uses most are blues. "I like turquoise (the stone) so greenish blues and browns are favorites." Some of her items are customizable, and some are not.
The Smiling Frog is a proud member of Etsy for Animals and also sells items in her shop where all the proceeds benefit The Canine Cancer Awareness Organization. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting canine cancer. They help sponsor the veterinary costs of dogs diagnosed with cancer for those families in financial need who would not otherwise be able to afford treatment. The ring below is one of the items that you can buy to help.
Also, Angelica says that buyers of any of her products help animals because much of her earnings go to feed her 4 kittens and puppy.
