Lindsey is the owner of JustaGirl Creations-- a shop with pieces inspired by Gwen Stefani's fun, unique, and girly style. Aside from her shop, she is a full-time mom and part-time substitute teacher. Her shop is about a month old, but she has been on Etsy since February.
She began crafting when her brother in law and his long time girlfriend were about to get married. They only had about 5 weeks and a tight budget to put the wedding together, so Lindsey started making items for them and it turned out to be a very beautiful, personalized wedding. She began making jewelry after the wedding, because she felt lost without anything to work on.
Choosing a favorite from her own shop can be difficult, but her newest favorite is her cell phone lanyards. "They were inspired by my own needs - as a mom with a busy 4 year old, I sometimes suddenly need my hands free. I also drop my phone a lot. My sister and I both use and love them," Lindsey said.
Her favorite materials to work with at the moment are silver, Swarovski crystals, and gemstones, with cherry jade as her current favorite. She is also working on a more upscale line of jewelry that will use fine materials. Her favorite colors include blue and aqua, and also pink, black, greens and purples.
Lindsey has said that Etsy is broadening her horizons and challenging her to explore different creative styles.
JustaGirl Creations does do custom orders. She says, "Most of my wedding items are customized for colors and flowers, and I am happy to create a custom jewelry piece if you want a different size, color, or style."
